FDR and the New Deal (Good responses will help score you some extra credit points!)

FDR addressed the nation and said: "The ONLY THING TO FEAR, IS FEAR ITSELF"

What did he mean by this?  Please Comment.

How did FDR usually address and "talk to" the people?

  1. FDR used the radio and gave his famous "Fireside Chats." He was an excellent orator! FDR was afflicted by polio eleven years before his presidency, and understood the concept of "human suffering." He could "relate" to the common man.

(Note The Radio then was like today's Internet or 'You Tube'.)
